WORTH

“Value is not intrinsic, it is not in things. It is within us.” - Ludwig von Mises

What makes an object valuable? Is the value of an object intrinsic, or is it something conferred onto it by society and based on its perceived utility? In my photography collection Worth, I focus my attention on overlooked, everyday objects. Whether objects possess intrinsic or instrumental value is a debate that can run parallel to discussions about the intrinsic value of people. It is hard not to use the yardsticks of others when measuring an object's worth, a person's worth or your own self-worth.
